Tired restaurant burglar falls asleep during heist
When we envision thieves involved in a heist, we’d probably picture the attractive crew in Ocean’s Eleven executing a smart plan flawlessly, with a few hijinks along the way.
However, in certain situations, the thievery may not go as planned due to the fact that the burglar himself – wait for it – could have been sleep deprived before committing the robbery.
Here’s the story of a Thai burglar who broke into a restaurant in Nakhon Sri Thammarat and fell asleep during heist, spending the night at the eatery, only to be caught by law enforcement officials the next morning.

After the robber was woken up by the policeman, the culprit admitted his guilt and confessed to his crime.
Apparently, the man had broken into the restaurant to steal valuable items the night before, but unintentionally fell asleep after the act.
Didn’t have enough sleep the day before his attempted robbery
According to Thairath, the burglar told the policeman that the fatigue set in while he was about to leave the restaurant with his stolen items.

The burglar seemed to surrender to his fate as he allegedly continued sleeping in the car that took him to the police office.
Well, at least we know he’ll have plenty of opportunities to get the shuteye he needs where he’s headed.
Netizens comment on the theft and stolen nap
After the story went viral, many netizens shared their thoughts about the story.

Translation: So, he went there to steal or sleep?
Finally, this Facebook user questioned whether the man broke into the restaurant to steal items or to find a bed to sleep in.
Having sufficient sleep is very important
Though this isn’t your typical “caught sleeping on the job” kinda story, we hope the burglar will learn his lesson from the experience and will not commit robbery again.
We also hope the restaurant owner will be able to retrieve all the stolen items.
Of course, one important lesson we can learn from this experience is that having enough sleep is important to ensure our health and well-being.
After all, the consequences of exceeding our body’s limits when we get tired can be life-changing when we least expect it.
