The Golden Mount is a prime attraction at Wat Saket, one of Bangkok’s oldest royal temples. Annually, the stupa atop the mountain will be wrapped in red cloth as a way to pay respects to Buddha. This has been practised for over a century!

As a part of the celebration, a night fair will be held around the Golden Mount’s base for 10 days and nights as a secular way to celebrate this sacred event.

This year, the event is held from now till 13th November 2019. And while you’re able to visit the stupa during both day and night time, the night market starts from 4pm to midnight with free entry.

Try local food stalls and games

At the fair, you can expect to see a huge crowd forming queues at food stalls selling all sorts of delicious snacks like Thai crepes, popcorn, grilled meatballs, hoi tod (crispy mussel omelette), and many more.

Once you’re done eating, jump on a colourful Ferris wheel with your special someone to enjoy a clearer view of the Golden Mount together. Kids will love this for sure!
