The Garrison Bangkok is a vintage bar near Saphan Khwai BTS
After the sleeper Netflix hit that was Peaky Blinders, countless fans obsessed over ye olde Birmingham vibes that the show exuded. This probably also quickly manifested into a desire to go drinking in a saloon – just like Thomas Shelby.
However, fans were hard-pressed to find a bar in Bangkok that lived up to expectations.
But never fear. We have just the saloon to you. The Garrison Bangkok is a vintage saloon that will let you hang out like the Shelbys and live out any old-timey roleplay IRL.

Back to old-school England in this English-style pub
The Garrison Bangkok is an old-school English-style pub located close to the Saphan Khwai BTS station.
Basically, the pub is inspired by an English pub in Birmingham in 1919, and it is worth visiting for those are Peaky Blinders’ fans.
Standing in front of the saloon, you can bask in the vintage ambience while admiring the brown exterior and the old-style fonts of the name on top.
Open walking through the door, expect to be greeted by sleek wooden furniture with intricate motifs – as if you traveled back to England in 1919.
Look carefully and you’ll spot dark-brown wood panels with some classic paintings on it. This definitely adds to the old-timey atmosphere of the saloon, but no bar visit is complete without generous servings of food and drinks.
Next up, we’ll address what your tummy’s thinking of – what’s on the menu here.
Kahlua vodka cocktails and Thai fusion food
Although one may expect to find a traditional menu to match its classic decor, this saloon offers a wide array of drinks and food choices, including Thai dishes we know and love.
For vodka lovers, consider this cocktail named Over The Moon ฿320 (~USD9), which mixes Vodka with Kahlua Coffee Liqueur. Perfect for kicking back while listening to live music performances, but more on that later.
With these two liquors paired together, do note that the drink’s gonna be pretty strong – so do order it only if you’re ready.
However, if you are not fond of strong drinks, My Girl is a classy, non-alcoholic option for you and your partner. Served in a fancy glass, with just the right amount of foam, the fruity drink goes for ฿320 (~USD9).
To fill your stomach for the night, try this Salty Grilled Beef With Thai Spicy Sauce ฿240 (~USD7), for something to munch along with your cocktail.
Not a fan of spicy food? Fret not. We’d recommend this Fried Rice With Fried Pork Neck ฿220 (~USD6), as a classic Thai dish with tender umami meat.
As promised, we’ll touch on what else this saloon has to offer, besides the ambience, food and drinks. A night out in Bangkok wouldn’t be perfect without live music.
Rock your head along with live rock music
Drinking in silence can be rather boring without music to amplify the mood. Thankfully, the folks at The Garrison Bangkok do have a slate of musicians who will play charming ditties for guests as they wind down in the evenings with cocktails in hand.
In short, besides Peaky Blinders’ fans, know that rock music fans are also welcome at this chill, lesser-known hangout in Bangkok.
