Walk-In Covid-19 Vaccinations To Be Available For Thais Next Month

Walk-in vaccinations for Thais

Due to the urgency of alleviating the effects from the pandemic, Thai department store giants like Central group and Big C have already opted to turn their spaces into vaccination clinics.

Considering the slow vaccination rates, the government seems to have taken another step further. Public Health Minister, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul announced that the administration is looking at walk-in vaccination services throughout Thailand.

Here’s the plan for the new vaccination system.

Covid-19 updates:

Walk-in vaccination to start next month

The health minister plans for walk-in vaccinations to start as early as next month in provinces ready to offer free Covid-19 inoculations. He also mentioned creating more channels to register for jabs.

Currently, the “Mor Prom” app and LINE accounts are the primary vaccination registration platforms that prioritises applications from around 16 million individuals who have seven types of pre-existing illnesses, according to Bangkok Post

As the current registration rate is below target, the government has asked that each provincial government start preparing for walk-in vaccine services.

Department of Disease Control Chief, Dr. Karnkawinpong asserts that this will enhance vaccination rollouts to the public.

Are you vaccinated already?

With Thailand beginning to expedite the mass vaccination process, it’s likely that we can achieve herd immunity and – hopefully – return to a “New Normal”.
