8 Thai Provinces Impose Curfews Between 9PM-4AM, BKK Govt To Decide On Restrictions Today

Curfews in eight Thai provinces


Thailand has been pouring in attempts to curb the recent Covid-19 spread with new regulations daily, including the Communicable Disease Act that makes wearing masks in public compulsory along with “work from home” policy and shortened business hours of many venues.

Announced just yesterday, 27th April 2021, eight provinces will now be facing “soft curfews” at night.

Curfew hours to be implemented


The news was released on the Ministry of Interior’s Facebook page yesterday around 6PM urging people in the following provinces to participate in the voluntary curfew by avoid leaving their homes between the hours listed in the official announcement as follows:

  1. Trang, 10PM-3AM
  2. Nonthaburi, 9PM-4AM
  3. Beung Kan, 11PM-4AM
  4. Pathum Thani, 9PM-4AM
  5. Songkhla, 10PM-4AM
  6. Samut Prakan, 9PM-4AM
  7. Samut Sakhon, 11PM-4AM
  8. Surat Thani, 10PM-4AM

As for Bangkok, a decision in regard to its lockdown will be finalised in a cabinet meeting today, according to The Nation Thailand, with PM Prayut Chan-o-cha now the sole authority in issues concerning the pandemic as reported by The Thaiger.


Thailand increases safety measures


With 2,012 new infection cases and a total of 15 deaths as of today, Thailand is now returning to curfews – and possibly a lockdown – to create a stronger barricade against Covid-19.
