Thai Provinces Begin To Self-Isolate And Quarantine Travellers Coming From ‘Red Zones’

Buriram and Chonburi impose stricter safety measures


Thailand’s number of active coronavirus cases continue to increase daily. Two provinces, Buriram and Chonburi, have regulated tighter measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The E-sarn province of Buriram require travellers from 28 ‘red zone’ provinces to comply with the following measures:

  1. Fill out an entry permit 
  2. Hand over a health certificate from Covid-19 check up spots
  3. Check-in with the MorChana App
  4. Required for a 14-day quarantine without leaving the quarantine area as designated by the Buriram Communicable Disease Committee
  5. For travellers who are unable to quarantine, they must submit to a medical examination in a laboratory and be screened by the Rapid Test Method that costs ฿600

Koh Larn Island in Chonburi announces their safety measures


Koh Larn Island, a tourist island tucked away in Pattaya, announced that they would be closing the island until 20th January 2021. Additionally, they’ve announced their safety measures to reduce the infection of Covid-19 as follows:

  1. No visitors allowed on the island from 5th January to 20th January
  2. Hours of curfew from 10PM – 5AM
  3. Ferries and speedboat services are suspended between Mainland Pattaya and Koh Larn, but speedboats are permitted to be serviced depending on the cases.
  4.  Boats delivering food are required to be free of any third party passengers
  5. No transport of migrant workers
  6. Local food outlets are only permitted to service take away orders

Travel with precautionary measures


In the midst of the pandemic, it’s essential to follow these measures implemented by the government and provincial officers.
