Even though Thailand hasn’t yet resumed incoming international flights just yet, we still are opening our arms to welcome Thai citizens who have been stranded abroad back home.

On 13th May 2020 at 6pm, over 124 Thai citizens from India arrived in Thailand at Suvarnabhumi Airport safely. The passengers included 76 Buddhist monks and novices, 13 nuns and 40 more people.

All passengers had their body temperatures checked, and 3 of them were found with high temperatures.

To avoid another cluster from forming, all passengers were later sent to a hotel, H2do, in Samut Prakan province in order to be quarantined for 14 days under medical care before going back home.

On the same day, 15 Thais returned from Ukraine to Thailand at 9.30am. The passengers had their temperatures checked and were sent to a facility in Samut Prakan, but it is unclear if it is the same holding place as the group from India. Also, another flight with 80 passengers from Germany arrived in Thailand on 14th May 2020 at 1.30am.

We’re glad that they are back home in Thailand and we hope that everything goes smoothly for them during quarantine!
