When it comes to falling asleep, some of us enjoy the faint hum of an airplane, while others enjoy the rhythmic chugging of a train.

Tales Khaosan is a hostel with an off-the-rails theme to satisfy your wanderlust, since it’s still iffy to travel long-distance.

Retro diner bar in a train

The inside of this cafe looks like the interior of a train cabin, with wood finishing, with round-edged windows and columns of bolts running up the metallic walls.

The bar at the front has the look of a retro diner, complete with swivel stools to sit by the barista. Parts of the train are decorated with light bulb chains as well.

Toast is the main menu here, and we recommend the Bananatella (฿110) with Apple Cold Brew (฿110), or pair Appresso (฿80) with Smoked Salmon (฿80). These menus are available through opening hours, as breakfast or brunch, and even for takeaways.

Also available are co-working spaces for rent, available from 6:00PM-9:00AM. That’s right – fellow night owls can burn the midnight oil here for 3-6 hours (฿150-250 per person).
