Standup paddleboarding (SUP) is a relaxing water activity you can do on a lake or a river, as you hold onto a paddle and stand on a floating board.
In Trak, SUP Aholic Trat offers you a SUP paddling trip from ฿700 (~USD20.25)/person. The trip consists of a life jacket, necessary equipment, and a paddling lesson. Their staff will also take care of you and snap photos for you.
The highlight here – if you visit during the rainy season – is a sinking white Buddha statue. In summer, the water level can be low enough for you to wade through to pay respects to the Buddha.
You can paddle in two sessions: 7am-9am in the morning and 3pm-5pm in the afternoon. Note that you need to book in advance as walk-ins aren’t allowed.
If you want to paddle with your friends on the same board, go for a giant SUP board for ฿2,500 (~USD72.40)/board. The board can take up to four to six people.
