Single father surprises kids for Mother’s Day
Charan “Ran” Chamnuansok recently brought a smile to people’s faces when he posted pictures of himself in a wig and light make-up. He did this for his children, whose school was having a Mother’s Day ceremony.Â
It is customary for Thai schools to host an official ceremony before Mother’s Day on 12th August as a sign of respect for moms. The ceremony involves children paying their respects by bowing down at their mothers’ feet and presenting them with a fresh jasmine garland.Â
Chamnuansok shared that he did this to make his children happy, as he had broken up with his wife 5 years ago due to personal reasons. Thus, he knew he had to step in to fill in the role for his kids.Â
He planned everything in advance
Days before the ceremony, he posted a status on Facebook asking if anyone had a long-haired wig to lend him. He wanted to dress up to surprise his 2 children at school – Name (6), and Ben-ten (4).Â
Translation: Does anyone have a wig I can borrow? I need to be a mother for my children.

His friends and other netizens were quick to shower him with positive comments.
Translation: Ran, you have changed a lot, in a good way. I wish you and your children stay happy. You are super!
Users even pointed out that this was something important to do for his children, and they wouldn’t have felt like they were missing out during the ceremony.Â
Translation: I feel really happy for the children to have such a good dad who does everything for them. Ehhh, or should I call you a mother?
Translation: These children won’t feel like they’re missing something. At least they know there is someone who can do everything for them.
