Shopping centres in Thailand are normally open until 10PM, before the COVID-19 pandemic started in the country. Since then, all malls were temporarily closed and have since reopened on 17th May 2020 with shorter opening hours (10am to 8pm).

Good news for shoppers; according to the committee’s proposal, shopping malls in Thailand will be open one hour longer – up till 9pm – next month

Besides the extension of shopping malls’ opening hours, the committee also agreed to shorten the curfew period by one hour. To help market traders who work in the early morning, the curfew will be now from 11pm-4am to 11pm-3am, starting from next month onwards until further notice.

However, the two plans will still need to be submitted to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) for consideration on 29th May 2020.

As for now, due to the latest meeting on 27th May 2020, businesses in the high-risk category, including boxing stadiums, pubs, water parks and amusement parks will remain closed, and they will be the last group to reopen. Stay tuned for updates.
