Security Guard In Self Quarantine Warns Neighbours To Maintain Social Distance, Sets Good Example Of Responsibility

Bangkok is a red zone

On 6th January 2021, Mr Songpon Densakunrueng, a security guard who works in Lamed District, Surat Thani province returned from seeing his wife in Bangkok, after after receiving news that she was in an accident.

He complied with the 14-day quarantine safety measure, as he just got back from a red zone. Mr Densakunrueng’s relatives helped him set up a barricade in front of his house to protect the community with a sign reading, “No Entry, I’m quarantined for 14 days”.

The security guard’s family have been providing his food and cutlery. They minimise the risk of contamination by using a ‘no-contact’ delivery method – placing his meals in front of his home.

Regular checks ups within the community

After 2 days, he saw no symptoms. However, Mr Densakunrueng continued to isolate himself to ensure the health and safety of other community members.

Thai govt discourages domestic travel

2020 ended with a major plot twist for Thailand- new Covid-19 outbreaks across the country. The Thai Government recently requested the public to put their travel plans on hold to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Plus, travellers are still asked to be screened and hand over the relevant documents to the government authorities

Be like Mr Songpon

Mr Songpon has set a good example that will help ease the minds in the community. Even though travelling is discouraged, nothing is stopping you from having fun at home and being responsible at the same time. There needs to be a healthy ecosystem of fun and responsibility.
