Thai Govt Announces That Expats In Phuket Can Register For Covid-19 Vaccinations

Covid-19 vaccine for Phuket expats

On 25th March 2021, the Thai Government announced Phuket’s quarantine-free tourism starting on 1st July 2021.

In order for the island’s reopening to happen, authorities mandated that at least 70% of the population would have to be vaccinated against Covid-19; on 31st March 2021, officials announced that expats living on the island are also eligible for inoculations.

Hospitality and tourism operators first

Director of Vachira Phuket Hospital, Dr. Chalermpong stated, “all people on the island who are older than 18 years old but younger than 60 years old are eligible to be vaccinated, including people registered as living in Phuket, those who are from other provinces (registered in Phuket), and foreigners”, reported The Phuket News

Earlier this week, the Phuket Governor informed citizens that the first 100,000 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine will be arriving within April 2021; Dr. Chalermpong elaborated that this first batch will be allocated to tourism operators living in Phuket.

Register for vaccinations in Phuket

In order to register for a Covid-19 vaccination appointment, residents must first indicate that they are indeed Phuket residents through this form

Business operators are asked to log their employees here.

After filling out the above forms applicable to your situation, you can then request an inoculation at this form provided by the Phuket Provincial Public Health Office (PPHO)

As of right now, these forms are only available in Thai.

Tourism as part of the New Normal

Thailand received a taste of ‘normalcy’ last year, which was interrupted by a spike of Covid-19 cases. Hopefully, this phase of the ‘New Normal’ will prove lasting and maybe even incorporate international tourism.
