After 16 days without any local COVID-19 transmissions, Thailand plans to cancel its current night curfew and reopen selected businesses under strict safety measures.

15-day trial without night curfew

Thailand’s Office of National Security Council plans to cancel the night curfew for 15 days and implement reopening measures which will start on 15th June.

Thailand is still under its State of Emergency, so the night curfew can still be announced at any time in any case of emergency.

For phase 4 of the lockdown, spokesman of COVID-19 Crisis Center Taweesin Visanuyothin revealed that some high-risk businesses and activities are allowed to operate under strict health policies being put in place.

Spas and onsens can also reopen, but soapy massage parlours are still on hold until further notice.

Nevertheless, all businesses are required to abide by the necessary safety policies and need to be careful to avoid any risk of infection.

This plan will be proposed for further approval in the next government meeting, which will take place around 14th June. Stay tuned for updates.
