Oakland Cafe Bangkok
Sometimes, we do feel like getting away from metropolises to glamp-sites in the countryside to let go of lethargic feelings that have been piling up within us for weeks, or maybe months.
Even with a desire to escape, it can be hard to find time as our work demands keep us glued to our electronic devices.
Oakland Cafe in Bangkok is a glamp-site themed cafe that lets visitors lounge in minimalist tents in a verdant garden, while enjoying a hearty meal for a day.

Minimalist cafe with glamping seating
Oakland Cafe is a glamp-site themed cafe in Thonburi, an area in Bangkok, that is designed with snowy white architecture and has a brownish wooden bar and dining area.

The cafe is eye-catching with its minimalist appearance.
Plus, they offer an outdoor seating area with white umbrellas towering over for shelter, if you are the kind of person who fancies sitting outside or dining al fresco.
If the seating above does not preserve your privacy, you can move to this white glamping tent to chill at, while chatting with your friends. Curling up on the white mattress within to finish reading your favorite book you’ve been putting off for ages, sounds splendid too.
For those who love to stay in touch with nature, check out the verdant garden around the cafe, which helps you disconnect from the chaotic feelings of the city.
Walking inside, you’ll see white-washed walls paired with brown-panelled counter tops, upon which lie the latest espresso machines to help add to the minimalist Japanese aesthetic, popularised by brands like Muji.
Beyond admiring the decor, however, the menu has diverse food and beverage options for you to savour in your tent.
European-style breakfast for tent dining
We spotted both Thai food and European food options like Shrimp Fried With Chilli & Salt for ฿330 (~USD10) or Carbonara for ฿270 (~USD8).
In case you’re not really up for a full-blown meal, you can order an Iced Matcha Latte for ฿95 (~USD2.8) and Red Velvet Cheesecake for ฿110 (~USD3.3) to satisfy your mid-afternoon snack cravings.
Right before you leave though, do make sure to round out the trip with a few photo spots to immortalise this visit on the ‘gram.
Classic wooden bus stop bench for that overseas #OOTD look
We’d recommend circling back to the entrance, to hunt for this miniature wooden bus stop that’ll definitely catch your eye.
The auburn wood backing of the bus stop provides a strong contrast with the white wall behind, evoking the feels not unlike a cycling pit stop you may see in Japan.
While taking your #OOTD shots, we’d definitely consider adding a cheeky caption to pretend you’re not in Thailand atm.
Must-visit cafe for glamping addicts
This cafe helps visitors experience a short glamping trip without having to drive super far away – so you can escape from work for a bit.
And since it is situated in Bangkok, I find it easy to visit this place either with a personal vehicle or even public transportation like the MRT.
If you don’t own a car, simply take an MRT ride and get off at MRT Phasi Charoen and hail a taxi to get to the cafe.
