Chapaguri instant noodles by Nongshim
2020 might seem like an absolute mess so far, but Bong Joon Ho blessed the people this year with his latest movie Parasite which swept audiences off their feet worldwide.
But beyond ingenious plot points and its A* cinematography, there was 1 thing in particular that won the hearts of those who watched it: Chapaguri.
Combination of 2 Nongshim classics

For the uninitiated, Chapaguri is the combination of 2 instant noodle products by Nongshim – Chapagetti and Neoguri. The former is an instant version of jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles), while the latter is a classic udon soup.
The dish is also referred to as Ram-Don (ramen + udon).

In the film, the character Mrs. Park requests for a bowl of Chapaguri with a side of steak (because c’mon, she’s bougie as hell) to the bemusement of Choong-sook – and literally everyone else watching.
Needless to say, this led to people trying it out for themselves as the products are available IRL too. Nongshim has even jumped on the Parasite train and released a official recipe and tutorial for the dish.
Netizens curious about legitimacy
Facebook user Michael Palero shook the internet after posting a photo in the page Subtle Asian Traits of what seems to be an actual cup of Chapaguri manufactured by Nongshim themselves.

But alas, no further details were added to the post, leaving netizens wondering if this is a real product or the work of an evil genius taunting us all. We’re looking at you, Michael.
Some people are also banking on Amazon to have the product, but no one seems to have found it just yet.
Complete with nutritional values and everything!

Nongshim does not seem to have the product listed on their website just yet, but we’re hoping this item is real and will be gracing our supermarkets and convenience stores soon.
