“Motorbike Gang” Queues For Covid-19 Vaccines, Suspected To Have False Identities

Motorbike gang queues for Covid-19 vaccines

Covid-19 vaccinations in Thailand have been more accessible to many Thais, but they still need to queue up before receiving a jab and abide by the priority groups.

Due to the lack of patience, there are those who give themselves a shortcut through the lines. For example, this “motorbike gang” queues up for Covid-19 vaccines, who have been caught for their fake identities.

But why did this happen?

 Current affairs about Covid-19:

“Motorbike gang” was denied vaccinations

This “motorbike gang” went for a jab on 6th June 2021 at Bang Sue Train Station for high-priority groups. This small party were later caught for providing their false identities in order to fall under the priority group.

The operations staff checked their identities and realised they weren’t motorbike drivers, announced by Public Health Minister, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul according to Bright TV.

According to investigations by the Chairman Board of the Bang Sue Vaccination Centre, Mr. Sorapong Phathoonpong confirmed that they aren’t registered as they claimed. They are said to be hi-so Thais, and thus faced rejection from receiving shots, reported Kapook.

Currently, underprivileged groups who are vulnerable to Covid-19 as well as those who are from high-risk areas are among the priority groups.

Long vaccination queues

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has made Covid-19 vaccination appointments available online – however, this system prioritises those who are in high-risk areas.

Appointments have been rapidly reserved as a result of people’s urgency for immunisation.

Desperate times for everyone

In the midst of this global crisis, people’s behavioural patterns have changed a lot due to fear of the virus. It’s important to stay calm and carry on in times of desperation like this, whilst waiting for our inoculation appointments.

The Thai government promises an efficient vaccination process and that everyone is eligible for inoculation, without having to pay any further expenses.

If you’ve received your vaccination already, please share your experience with us.
