Beauty salons and spas are important for lots of us who just want to relax and get away from the stress of everyday life. However, these businesses have been temporarily closed due to COVID-19, and have just reopened as phase 3 of lockdown has come into effect.

Though our safety comes first, our wellness and beauty routines are important too, and this clinic in Bangkok strictly follows preventive measures by offering a mini face mask for its customers to wear during treatments.

Waleerat Beauty Clinic at Pratumwan district, Bangkok, is giving mini face masks to its customers to wear during treatments to minimise risks of virus transmission as much as possible. The mini mask is well designed to be used only in the clinic and is not currently sold.

The clinic’s Chief Marketing Officer, Wisarut Krimthungthong, said that the mask will only cover one’s nose area so that staff are able to do treatments without having to take the masks off.

Kannika Sae-Ngow, a customer who received a laser treatment at the clinic on 2nd June 2020 said, “At first, I thought it was weird but it is actually really great because it’s specifically designed to keep us safe during [the] facial treatment.”

The clinic doesn’t only offer face masks, but it also follows other safety precautions such as limiting the number of customers each day to 15, from more than 100 previously. This way, all patients will have more time to have their temperature screened and go through other health checks before their treatments.

Wearing a face mask is nothing new, but it’s interesting to see how our everyday lives change amid life during the pandemic.
