Being a chill person is great, but you should also know your limits – at least know the right time and place to relax. Otherwise, your “chill vibes” might end up making others tense as this man did to his fellow motorists.

Last week, a video showing a man without a helmet sitting cross-legged on a moving motorcycle had surfaced on Facebook. It was posted by user Entrance Phetchabun, with a caption read: “Saw this on my way to lunch. What is up with him?”

While a lot of people online were appalled by his behaviour, a man in a red shirt in the video gave the guy a big thumbs up – probably in amusement!
The incident took place on Highway No. 21, which is a big road with lots of traffic in the Phetchabun province.
Mixed reactions from netizens
To no surprise, netizens came together and criticised the man’s actions. Many said that this careless stunt could’ve been harmful to himself, and worse, to other innocent people on the road – we couldn’t agree more.
Translation: What a reckless driving. If something bad happened, he wouldn’t be so chill. Please be mindful about other people’s safety
Translation: Luckily, nothing bad happened. His carelessness could’ve badly affected himself and others.
Translation: If he’d crashed and hurt innocent people, it would not be ok at all.
Man identified and charged for careless driving
Sanook News reported a follow-up story on 11th October 2019, identifying him as 27-year-old Adisorn Ratchasri from Khon Kaen.
He had been in the area to visit his girlfriend in Phetchabun. During his stay, Mr. Adisorn borrowed his girlfriend’s motorcycle for a ride and pulled the stunt thinking no one would recognise him – umm, still sure about that?
Mr. Adisorn revealed that he was shocked when the video went viral. He has since been charged with careless driving and possibly driving without a helmet.
Moral of the story: don’t pull a reckless stunt and expect to get away with it in the world with the internet. When you’re on the road, we encourage you to care about your fellow commuters as much as yourself so everyone can have a safe trip.
