Adapting to business with COVID-19
The COVID-19 situation in Thailand seems to be getting better, with zero new cases reported yesterday and only 1 new case today. As such, food stalls and restaurants now need to follow the necessary safety protocol, thus using plastic partitions and spaces between tables so customers can eat safely. Moreover, they should encourage customers to sit separately too.
But eating alone can get lonely – which is why this Thai restaurant offers its patrons with panda dolls to keep them company.
No more lonely meals at Maison Saigon
Maison Saigon is a Vietnamese restaurant in Bangkok. The store has come up with a great idea to encourage their customers to sit separately by offering them cute fluffy panda dolls as a friend while dining.
The store owner said that they already had the toy pandas for customers with children. When they had to reopen the eatery with social distancing measures in place, they thought that the dolls could help customers enjoy their meals even when sitting alone.
Moreover, placing one of these adorable pandas on the chairs seems friendlier than cordoning the areas off with signs to prevent people from sitting there.

Some of the fluffy pandas wear a red Vietnamese hat, which the owner said was inspired by the character Po from Kung Fu Panda.
For people who prefer to sit together, tables are all set with partitions so that customers aren’t in direct contact with each other. Aside from that, the store has also tightened its cleaning measures to make sure that everyone can enjoy their food in a hygienic environment.
