In Thai culture, those who get ordained as a Buddhist monk are required to follow monastic principles, which discourages any sort of romantic relations.
However, there are certain monks who cannot refrain from bad actions or taking part in prohibited activities.

Buddhist monk found having an affair with woman
On 9th February 2022, the story of a monk at Bang Nga Prak temple in Samutprakarn who allegedly had intimate relations with a woman became a hot issue on social media in Thailand.
Mor Pla, a famous shaman well-known for his dedication to eliminating corruption alongside police officials and reporters rushed to the scene of the incident they received complaints from locals about a monk engaging in romantic relations.

Officials and Mor Pla raided the alleged monk’s two-story cubicle. They didn’t find the paramour, but found what appeared to be a woman’s headband.

When asked whose the headband was, the monk claimed that the object belonged to him and demonstrated how he uses it to alleviate his headaches.

A few moments later, they spotted women’s clothing underneath the staircase, which led them to where the woman was hiding.

The adulterous monk still denied all allegations of his sexual misconduct, but still decided to leave monkhood, according to Thairath.

After the story went viral on Facebook – amassing over 14K likes – many netizens poued in to praise Mor Pla for his quick action to deal with the incident.
