Thailand prepares for tourism again
Officials have announced that Thailand is currently preparing to allow tourists from October, after the country’s tourism took a huge hit from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Travel Media Daily reported that travellers will be required to stay in the country for at least 30 days, with the first 2 weeks being a mandatory quarantine.

To start in Phuket
Tourism Authority of Thailand governor Yuthasak Supasorn shared that visitors will be required to complete their 14-day quarantine period before being allowed to visit other locations.
He stated that that it is slated to roll out on 1st October 2020 starting in Phuket.
Before being allowed to travel around Phuket, all guests must take two COVID-19 tests and be tested negative.
In the instance tourists wish to travel to other parts of Thailand, they will need to take another test and stay in the province for an additional week before doing so, stated Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, the minister of Tourism and Sports.
It is unclear whether there are “safe countries” tourists can travel from.

Minimum 30 day travel period
This decision comes after the country’s tourism sector faces a steep decline since the virus broke out in January. As of today, Thailand has gone 100 days with zero local transmissions.
Last month, a man was found to have COVID-19 despite completing his 14 day quarantine, so we hope those that wish to travel during this time take extreme precautions in helping control the virus.
Stay tuned for updates.
