Kuman Thong or “Golden Baby” figures are revered in Thailand. Many believe that these little ghost dolls will bring luck and fortune into their homes – families have dedicated shrines to the “child” where they offer food and drinks.
In the midst of the pandemic, many are in need of some extra luck. However, they probably didn’t go to the same extent as this Thai man, who transformed himself into an actual Kuman Thong.
Here are the factors that drove the man to morph into a ghost doll IRL.

Man dresses up as ghost-doll to boost sales
Mr. Boonreung a.k.a the human-ghost-doll was found covered in baby powder with “lucky” numbers written on his forehead, chest, and legs in front of Raan Sanim Vintage store in Petchabhun.
The masterminds, besides Mr Boonreung the human kuman thong, were none other than these 2 individuals. A lottery ticket shop owner, Ms. Vachiraya Khongkarat and Raan Sanim Vintage store’s owner, Mr. Tanachai Chusong.
Noticing that many Thais have been trying their luck with lottery tickets during Covid-19, the trio decided on a comical and “auspicious” approach to selling Ms. Khongkarat’s lottery tickets.

Whilst Mr. Boonrueng attempts to bring more “fortune” for lottery buyers, netizens are eagerly waiting for more “lucky” lottery numbers.
