Exploring gender fluidity
Thailand and more countries all around the world have become more open and welcoming towards the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. As the years go by, we have seen regulations ease for customs like same-sex marriages.
However, there is still room for us to grow. Criticism is still rampant, especially in the social mediascape these days. This is apparent in many instances, such as when people express themselves through fashion and dressing.

Pataradanai “Koen” Setsuwan, who goes by they/them pronouns, is a Thai singer from a boy band named K-OTIC. The band has since disbanded, but Koen still has a lot of followers, especially after seeing their love and support for the LGBTQ+ community in Thailand, and their confidence as a queer person.
Koen posted a picture on his Instagram together with a caption, in which they shared that people should be able to wear whatever they want and not let society or criticism bring anyone down.
In his caption, they stated that their sexuality was on a spectrum, and they could feel both hyper-feminine and hyper-masculine.

Koen now posts his gorgeous daily looks to show that you can be happy with your life and express your own identity without bothering about what naysayers have to say.
Many netizens agree and support his opinion
Many Instagram users commented under their initial post, agreeing with them and how they felt Koen was being a good role model.
Translation: You inspire me. I have more confidence in dressing and now I don’t let anyone discourage me.
Translation: This is great! It’s our own life, we can do whatever makes us happy and not let anybody tell us what we have to do.
Translation: I love your opinion. You are my idol!
Thank you Koen for helping others understand the concept of gender fluidity a little better, and for also being a positive role model for other LGBTQ+ folks.
We believe that our community will move forward and be more open despite each other’s differences – no matter our sexuality, race, skin colour, and more.
We hope this story has inspired you too – plus, Koen’s fashion might just give you some OOTD ideas!
