IKEA to open 4th outlet in Bangkok
When it comes to quirky furniture names and the familiar taste of Swedish meatballs, IKEA does it best. While there are already 3 IKEA outlets in Thailand, IKEA is set to open its 4th outlet right in the heart of the city, along Sukhumvit Rd.
Since every IKEA outlet is known to deliver on its experience, here’s what we know so far about the upcoming store.

At the moment, the complex is still under construction. While no opening date has been announced, read on for a look into what the other outlets have to offer for now. Perhaps then, my fellow detectives, we can accurately speculate as to what this new outlet will bring us.
IKEA Bangna sports a self-guided shopping layout
IKEA Bangna is IKEA’s first flagship store in Thailand. Its 43,000-square-metre warehouse and showroom space displays more than 7,500 furniture and home décor accessories for all living spaces.

Like all IKEA outlets, IKEA Bangna sports their signature self-guided shopping layout. The layout ensures that all visitors go through the entrance and walk through all available sections. After which, they can pick up their items from the warehouse, and pay for their purchases before leaving through a common exit.
We can sure look forward to the new Sukhumvit outlet to have something similar for us.
IKEA Bangna houses a 700-seat cafeteria
Furniture hunting in a huge warehouse is definitely an exhausting endeavour. That is why no IKEA outlet is ever complete without a well-stacked cafeteria.

In addition to Swedish snacks and food, the cafeteria at IKEA Bangna offers a selection of Asian and western dishes. Its 700-seater capacity bests even America’s biggest IKEA cafeteria’s record – *spoileralert* it houses up to 600 seats!
Of course, it is also important to note that this is a self-service cafeteria. Hence, visitors should take care to return their plates to their designated areas when dining in.
IKEA Phuket is a ‘pick up and order point’
Speaking of self-service, IKEA Phuket was also the Swedish brand’s first ‘pick up and order point’ in Asia.

All serious furniture hunters in Phuket are welcome to either shop online or at another another outlet IRL, before picking up the furniture 5 days later.
