Situated on a mountain, the village belongs to the Lahu people who mostly work in farming. Here, you can explore and see how their lifestyles, language, and the way they dress.

You can go hiking through a forest for about 1.7km to Pah Saam Liam – a high summit in Mae Taeng. For your safety, you should hire a local guide to take you along the safest route up for ฿500 (~USD15.15).

Getting to Huay Kub Kab in Chiang Mai


The place is a good fit for those who looking for a private place to get away.

If you take a Bangkok bus to any Chiang Mai Bus Terminal, you can check if there are Chiang Mai-Ta Ton route buses at the terminal. If not, you can travel to Yanyon Nakhon Chiang Mai to board a Chiang Mai-Ta Ton route bus there and alight at Mae Taeng where homestays typically offer pick-up services if you fix a meeting time with them in advance.

If you drive your own car, you can park it at Ban Kang Homestay with a ฿50 (~USD1.51) parking fee and get a ride from your homestay to Huay Kub Kab, as driving up there on your own isn’t recommended due to the challenging paths.
