There are many different social media channels spreading useful information and facts about the COVID-19 virus. หมอแล็บแพนด้า (Mor Lab Panda) is another Facebook page that keeps people up to date about the situation, breaking down complicated medical tidbits into understandable and funny ways.

The Panda Doctor isn’t just known among the Thai community for being funny too – he’s a real medical technologist and has now come up with Thailand’s first ‘HomeCOVID van’ to conduct COVID-19 testing at people’s houses.

MT Pakpoom Dejhasadin (a.k.a. Dr. Max) is famous for his character in a white lab coat and his signature under eye dark circles that makes him look like a panda bear, thus his name. From debunking strange myths to answering medical queries on his page, Dr. Max makes the medical world more accessible for the layman.

Now with the big jump of COVID-19 cases in Thailand, he has come up with an idea to service virus tests at home in order to prevent and decrease the numbers of infections.

The HomeCOVID van will visit high-risk groups at home for testing, bring back the sample to a lab, and then inform people of their results thereafter.

The test is guaranteed to meet the standard ISO regulations and is priced at ฿4,500, which is cheaper as compared to most hospitals in Bangkok that have their prices starting from ฿6,000.

Dr. Max has teamed up with different hospitals to prepare medical workers and virus testing equipment. For example, Ramathibodi and Thammasart Hospital.
