Here Hai Is A Seafood Restaurant In Bangkok That Serves XXL Fried Rice With Real Crab Meat

Here Hai Restaurant in Ekkamai

Bangkok is known for many things, and food definitely tops the list. But aside from the usual fare such as tom yum or green curry, pop by Here Hai Restaurant in Ekkamai for some good ol’ seafood for a change.

Specifically, come here for their signature Insane Crab Fried Rice, which comes in a supersized serving that could probably feed 4-5 people (฿990, ~USD32) – or 1, if you’re really hungry.

If you’re not in for a feast, the dish comes in a regular portion too – which is still rather generous – for ฿340 (~USD11)

When we say crab meat, we mean legit crab meat – not the red-and-white rolls you’d find in the frozen section of supermarkets for hot pots.

The fried rice is known for a strong wok hei taste and comes served with a side of fresh cucumber and green chilli sauce if you’d like some extra spice in every bite. Their portions are known to be big, which makes this spot a good place for bigger groups to order a few dishes to have at once.

Other Thai-style seafood dishes to try

Aside from crab, the restaurant is also known for cooking up fresh seafood dishes using ingredients like mantis shrimp, scallops, and squid. We all know that it’d be a crime to be in Thailand and not have basil stir fried anything, so add Holy Basil Stir Fried with Scallops (฿300, ~USD10) to your order while here.

And if you’d like to try something a little more adventurous, go for their Mantis Shrimp dishes. These little guys might look a little intimidating, but are known for having a slightly stronger flavour than prawns.

Here Hai also has veggie dishes like Cabbage with Pork Lard (฿80, ~USD2.60) and the rustic Southern Leaf Stir Fry (฿320, ~USD4) for customers to have along with the mains.

Hidden gem in Ekkamai

Here Hai is known to be quite hard to find, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled in order to find the place. It’s a 15-minute walk from Ekkamai BTS station and is located opposite a Don Don Donki – do use that as your landmark.

Also, get ready to queue – it’s small and able to fit only a few tables at once. Some customers can wait for up to an hour, though the food makes the wait worth it.

And while there is no signage in English to indicate its location, rest assured that the menu comes with translations for an easy ordering process.

So the next time you find yourself in Bangkok – or are a resident with no idea of this spot – come down for a satisfying meal that’ll have you leaving with a happy belly.

Note: Here Hai has a delivery option available on Lineman.
