Guss Damn Good – BKK Ice Cream Shop With Cookie Sandwiches And Sundaes Starting From $5

Guss Damn Good ice cream at Emquartier

Ice cream sandwiches are my favourite childhood snack. I fondly remember getting these at our local ice cream carts – plus, there would only be a limited amount, so I’d have to fight with my friends for it.

Guss Damn Good brings back this classic snack with a tasty cookie twist with its homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches and large variety of flavours. Here’s what we tried.

Signature cookie sandwiches

Guss Damn Good’s newly opened Emquartier outlet is the only store that sells ice cream sandwiches. They’re best known for their soft-baked cookies, which you can enjoy 3 ways: cookie sandwich, cookie sundae, and cookie sauce froyo.

Their Cookie Sandwich lets customers craft their own combinations of flavours, with prices from ฿140. First, pick your cookie flavour from chocolate and butter. Then, choose the ice cream flavour of your choice and finish it off with some toppings.

Chocolate dip, chocolate rocks, pretzel, and rainbow sprinkles to add onto your sandwich

We went with our own DIY combo: a chocolate cookie with Maine Rocky Coast ice cream, topped with butterscotch and crunchy pretzels.

The cookie doesn’t just look good – it tasted delicious as well. At first bite, the cookie is really chewy and soft and had a rich buttery taste which went well with the ice cream.

The Maine Rocky Coast is made up of sea salt almond brittle ice cream, that had a strong almond scent. Plus, the sea salt crumble gave it a nice salty taste and crunchy texture.

For our 2nd cookie sandwich, we caved into our matcha cravings. We picked Guss Damn Good’s butter cookie and So Alive ice cream – a Genmaicha green tea flavoured ice cream mixed with ginger candies.

The Genmaicha added a roasted rice flavour to the ice cream. And don’t worry about the ginger being too strong, it was nice and sweet with a hint of the “spicy” ginger taste.

The ice cream scoop is placed on the cookie and gently pressed together to form the sandwich

Crafting our own flavour combos was really fun, but you can also go with the store’s own pre-selected flavours if you don’t know what to try.

Unfortunately, it was sold out on the day we visited – but don’t worry, you can ask to reserve a cup before visiting on their Facebook page here

Food adventurers can save their tummy space for a Cookie Sauce Froyo (฿120). It’s made up of a unique combination of frozen yogurt and their signature cookie sauce.

Different ice cream flavours to choose from

Guss Damn Good’s ice creams are all homemade without any over-the-top toppings or ingredients. Each flavour is carefully made with well-selected ingredients for customers to try.

The names are pretty unique too. One that caught our eye was Don’t Give Up #18 – the store’s very first flavour. This is a milk-flavoured ice cream made from fresh milk imported from France, without any milk powder, colourings, and preservatives.

If you’re wondering why #18, that’s because they tried to make this ice cream 18 times before finding the perfect one!

Takeaway tubs start at ฿90 and come with beautiful packaging

Guss Damn Good also collaborates with many brands and companies to create cool flavours. We recognised out Toms and Wet ‘N’ Wild out of the bunch! These ice creams are vanilla-flavoured and cherry cream cheese-flavoured respectively.
