People think up peculiar ways to protect each other while allowing life to carry on during the “new normal”,  from tables with plastic domes to cars with curtains and shields.

In Canada, there is a pop-up yoga class where people yoga together in individual plastic domes.

In Toronto, a yoga studio named Lmnts* Outdoor Studio is currently holding yoga classes outdoors while practising social-distancing. Each person books their own dome and follows the instructor through speakers and a screen.

According to Insider, this event runs from 21st June to 31 July at Hotel X for 7 days a week with 6 other local studios.

The yoga studio warns that the domes are intentionally and uncomfortably hot like a greenhouse to get students sweating. There is a cooling fan just in case it gets too hot. It probably feels like being an ant under a magnifying glass in there.

They also mention that it is a BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat) event, so the students have to bring their own water and towels.

While the studio provides the domes, each person must continue to follow social-distancing rules by not sharing things and spaces.

Getting fit alone together

People have been working out at home or waiting for reopenings when the lockdown closed gyms nationwide.

Now that the lockdown is easing up, a lot are anxious to go out and resume routines, and these inventions help everyone adapt to the “new normal”. We hope the crisis will eventually pass and we can look back at these as quirky anecdotes.
