Selfies used as accident evidence
What would you do if you got into an accident and landed on a car roof? Probably anything but taking selfies. Well, that can’t be said for this young lady, whose boyfriend’s big bike crashed into the side of a pickup truck.
Earlier this week, a Facebook page called Thai TV Social shared pictures of the crash. What baffled the netizens was that 2 of the photos turned out to be selfies of the woman who had gotten into the accident.

This both amused and baffled Thai netizens. The post has over 3,000 shares and counting.
Netizens stunned and amused
Many comments expressed disbelief that the woman was able to take selfies after what seemed to be a serious accident. Many also wished for her to be well and safe.
Translation: Wow, she seems OK after being sent onto the roof? Wishing her well.
Translation: She’s lucky to be alive.
Translation: Once in a lifetime memento.
While the majority seems to poke fun at the photos, some people realised they could be used as evidence.
Translation: This is evidence. Hope you get well soon.
Translation: She said these were taken as evidence, be polite, people.
Accident actually took place last year
The woman in the picture is Jintamas Nacum, and she revealed that this accident actually took place on 12th August 2018 in Nakhon Pathom province despite the fact that the photos just went viral.
She shared with Coconuts that she and her boyfriend were on their way to the Salaya district when the pickup truck made an illegal turn. They couldn’t stop in time and their motorcycle ran into the truck’s side and sent her flying onto the roof.
While Jintamas was miraouscaly uninjured, her boyfriend got 10 stitches around his neck after it was cut by the truck’s broken window. It nearly cut his windpipe.Â

She took selfies as evidence
After Jintamas found herself on the pickup truck’s roof, she was told by the truck owner that he didn’t have insurance. So, she took out her phone to take selfies as evidence, showing her motorcycle’s condition while waiting for the paramedics to arrive.

No apology, no compensation
Although the pictures are amusing to the crowd, Jintamas disclosed that reality is not at all a laughing matter. For the past year, the truck driver hasn’t reached out to apologise or compensate the damage done to their bodies and vehicle.
After the accident, she and her boyfriend spent around ฿600,000 to fix their motorbike. As reported by Coconuts, both parties will see each other in a court hearing next month.Â
We hope both sides can finally settle this matter in court and be compensated accordingly.Â
