Staying at home with so much time, it’s no wonder some of us have turned into pros in the kitchen. One trend that has swept the internet off its feet has been Dalgona Coffee, where instant coffee is whipped into velvety perfection.
But if you’re bored making this all the time or don’t drink coffee to begin with, here are some new recipes to tide you over this quarantine season.
– BASIC STEPS –
The base instructions are easy peasy, so just follow these steps for any recipe you’d like to try.
1. Combine main ingredients and hot water in a bowl
2. Keep your glass of cold/hot milk ready
3. Whisk everything until stiff peaks form (~2-5 minutes with a hand mixer/electric whisk)

4. Pour your whipped mixture over milk and enjoy!
You can also swap out regular milk for alternatives, such as nut-based or oat milks.
We recommend using white sugar as it’ll yield the best “fluff” factor when whisking, but you can use brown sugar too.
Note: All recipes are for 1 serving
1. Whipped Matcha Latte

Matcha lattes always seemed like the one-up to regular coffees – until now. Step up your green tea game by fluffing them up instead.
Note that you can either have this with just milk or use a coffee-and-milk base for some extra caffeine.
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp matcha powder
- 1 egg white
- 4 tbsp hot water
- 3-4 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 glass of milk
Optional:
- Coffee (add to milk)
If you’d like to make it without eggs, simply swap out egg whites for ¼ cup heavy whipped cream, and use 1-2 tbsp of sugar instead.

Ain’t no better pairing than Oreo and milk after all.

A true blue treat many Thais hold near and dear is nom yen, which is syrup made from the salak fruit. It’s known for its signature pastel pink colour when mixed with milk. Another variant of this drink is bandung (rose syrup).
Depending on whichever syrup you’ve got, you can whip up this Dalgona recipe that tastes just as good as it looks.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2½ tbsp nom yen/rose syrup
- 1 glass of milk
