Covid-19 in Northern Thailand
On 29th December 2020, the first Covid-19 case was reported in Lampang.
The province is close to Chiang Mai, where the individual was said to have contracted it. Chiang Mai is one of the top tourist destinations and Covid-19 hotspots in Northern Thailand.

On 24th December 2020, the infected person flew from U-Tapao Airport in Rayong on an AirAsia flight to Chiang Mai International Airport, according to Narongsak Osotthanakorn, Lampang Governor.
The individual also spent two nights in Chiang Mai before driving to Lampang on Boxing Day. There, he attended a wedding at Ban Huay Village.
Travel with caution this New Year’s
Many people love to visit Northern Thailand’s for its chilly weather, especially during the “winter” months. It’s vital that we all continue to practice Covid-19 safety measures while we enjoy the provinces’ beauty.
