High-risk groups urged to get tested
With Phuket being the region with the 2nd highest number of cases in Thailand, those in and from the area have been urged to get tested.
“The patient came from an at-risk area, had no symptoms and is of working age,” said Dr Taweesilp, who then thanks the health volunteers for their efficiency.
He then urged others who had left Phuket to get tested for COVID-19 regardless of whether they were showing symptoms or not.
6 patients have recovered
In the last 24 hours, 6 more patients have recovered from the virus, Bangkok Post reports. This brings the total number of recovered cases to 2,850, with 112 patients still being treated. The accumulated number of cases in Thailand stands at 3,018.
No additional deaths have been reported either, keeping the death toll at 56.
