Situated a little out of the main old town area is Monday Sick Leave, a laid-back Italian restaurant that offers a peaceful atmosphere with picturesque views of the mountains in the background.
You’ll be able to appreciate the cool northern weather without the confines of a roof or walls to block out the wind, making the whole place feel really spacious and inviting.

2. The Rectangle Coffee x Tower

At first glance, The Rectangle Coffee x Tower might not seem like your regular bar – nor like one that has a rooftop – but this coffee shop is worthy of visiting whenever you’re in Chiang Mai.

This cafe is housed in an unfinished building with bare cement structures all round. One the first floor, you can hang out in an air-conditioned room or enjoy the view at the open-air seating area on the top floor.
