If you are a fan of southern Thailand, you might be aware that Cha-Am is a sightseeing district that’s worth checking out. Especially if you’ve got kiddos in tow for a year-end trip.

Those who’re scouting Cha-Am for more family-oriented activities, however, will be pleased to note that we’ve uncovered a cool place that we think would make for the perfect escape for your fam.

Admittedly, Morocco is a city that’s not commonly associated with Thailand, and it’s pretty rare to see attractions with this theme. Camel Republic boldly goes all-in to create a distinctive attraction based on Moroccan architecture – from the famed arches to the familiar, striking colour schemes.

When you first drive in, you’ll notice colourful ‘Hispano-Moorish-style’ buildings scattered amongst the lush hills in the backdrop. We’re betting that you’ll probably grab your smartphone to capture the scene as soon as you get off your car.

Apart from its eye-catching architecture, you’ll be greeted with cute animals such as giraffes, alpacas and goats once you get inside the zoo area. If you feel like getting up close and personal with them, you can even opt to feed these animals.

To make your trip worthwhile, we’d recommend stopping by the camel enclosure. As one of the most popular attractions here, due to the rarity of spotting camels in Thailand, you can arrange for a ride to experience what it feels like.

Whichever activity catches your fancy, however, don’t forget to snap a pic to immortalise the moment. We bet you’ll fall in love with their cute antics so much that you’ll be sad to leave too soon.

However, if the prospect of riding animals doesn’t exactly excite you, head straight to the ride zone to try the Flying Macaw Ride – a thrilling ride imported from Germany. Just like the camel enclosure is the highlight of the animal zone, this ride’s arguably the highlight of the theme park as it will thrill you by taking you up into the air and spinning you around at 360° angles.

Coming in a close second when it comes to the thrill factor, check out the Midi Dance as well – a ride that will swing you from side to side, and high enough to get you to scream at the top of your lungs. In short, brace yourself and try to have fun while experiencing the adrenaline rushes.

Strike a pose with the Moroccan architecture

Due to the theme park’s pretty in Moroccan pink buildings, collecting pics for your IG feed could be another priority for you.

Around the establishment, there are hidden spots that you’ll hopefully find photogenic enough to strike poses at and take pics of. So keep looking around, and you might stumble upon a perfect locale for your latest TikTok profile pic.

Each ticket starts from ฿120 (~USD3) for Thais and ฿150 (~USD4) for foreign visitors. However, if you’d like to participate in the extra activities like feeding animals, riding a camel, or getting on the theme park’s rides, you’ll need to pay extra fees for credits – or “stars” to experience them.
