Makha Bucha Buddhism Memorial Park in Nakhon Nayok
Thailand is best known for its stunning and unique temples which are located all around the country. Other than temples, this Buddhist centre is another must-visit attraction in Thailand. The park is home to a massive Buddha statue surrounded by 1,250 monk statues – a one of a kind sight.

This memorial park was built to mark one of the important events in the Buddhist calendar; Makha Bucha Day. This was the day when 1,250 abbots spontaneously gathered to see Buddha at the Veluvana Temple.

The area, which is over 20 acres, is now devoted to commemorate this event. There is a 13.5m Buddha statue with 1,250 life-sized monks sitting amid a beautiful view of nature and surrounding mountains.

Each statue also has a different posture, such as one reading Buddhist scriptures, placing a hand on a chest, and more.

The park also has intricate sand sculptures made by local artists, telling stories related to Buddhism.

Makha Bucha Buddhism Memorial Park is located in Nakhon Nayok which takes around a 2-hour drive from Bangkok.
The place does not only offer amazing Buddhist sculptures, but also a chance to relax with nature.
