BKK Commuters Can Travel To Pathum Thani By BTS Skytrain In Dec 2020, Say Goodbye To Traffic Jams

New BTS Skytrain from Bangkok to Pathum Thani 


Besides the new Marimekko trains and Gold line, BTS Skytrain has another surprise for Bangkok commuters. The train service is now offering a new route which can take you from Bangkok city centre to Pathum Thani without having to sit through hours of traffic jams. 


7 new stations to open in December  


BTS Sukhumvit Line had 4 extended stations for commuters in June 2020, which ended at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat (N17) station.

This December, Bangkokians can expect for more 7 stations beyond Wat Phra Sri Mahathat (N17) including: 

  • Phahon Yothin 59 (N18)
  • Sai Yud (N19)
  • Saphan Mai (N20)
  • Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital (N21)
  • Royal Thai Air Force Museum  (N22)
  • Yaek Kor Por Aor (N23)
  • Khu Khot (N24) 

The terminal station Khu Khot (N24) is located in Pathum Thani province, so it means that we will have another route that goes out of Bangkok, taking around 1 hour from the city centre.

On 6th October 2020, the Skytrain completed its first trial from Wat Phra Sri Mahathat station to the terminal station of Khu Khot successfully. So, this new route is expected to officially launch in December 2020.
