As Bangkok’s BTS Sky Train is expanding its routes, many city folks will be able to avoid being stuck in terrible traffic jams during rush hours

And now, it’s time for people who live near Phahonyothin Road to conveniently catch a train into the city and vice versa after the 4 new extended stations from Ha Yaek Lat Phrao are finally ready for operation.

These 4 new stations are Phahonyothin, Ratchayothin, Sena Nikhom, and Kasetsart University – which are in the area many consider as “the outskirts” of Bangkok.

Starting on 4th December this year

The 4 new stations will be fully operational on 4th December 2019. The best part is that the commuters will be offered free* rides to and between these new stations until 2nd January 2020.

*Your fee will be calculated until Ha Yaek Lat Phrao station for outbound journeys, and will only start from there for city-bound trips.

Pol. Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, the governor of Bangkok, announced that the period of free rides is an early new year’s present for Bangkokians.

Once you step out of Ratchayothin Station, you’ll find a movie cinema with an IMAX screen, an evening market that sells cheap food and clothes, and an array of restaurants in the complex.

The BTS doesn’t only make the locals’ everyday life much more convenient, it also allows visitors to easily explore more of Bangkok that many have never seen before!
