You’ll find all sorts of old-school goods for as cheap and as good as our street food. Best yet, these markets are great to visit just for the vibes and that wonderful feeling of scavenging for underappreciated treasures alone.
If you’re in love with hand-me-down styles just like us, here are 8 of the best ands cheap second-hand markets in Bangkok that you definitely should visit.
1. Second-hand Zone at Chatuchak Weekend Market – the classic go-to during the weekends
Travellers who know Bangkok would know Chatuchak Weekend Market as THE shopping hub to drop by while here. It’s arguably one of the city’s most visited spots, by both locals and tourists.
Young Thai fashionistas come here often to update their closets with artsy items like handmade jewellery and new edgy fashion items, but not many know that there are zones dedicated to used fashion items and clothes only – Zones 5 and 6.

These two zones are located between entrance number 2 and 3 of the market.
Most of the shops here sell cool street style wears like old-school T-shirts and denim jackets that look similar to the one we can see John Travolta wearing in Grease.

To all vintage guys and gals out there, you’re in for a treat too. A number of shops here are likely to tempt you with their swanky embroidered bags and gorgeous clutches from eras ranging from the 50s to 80s.

2. Chang Chui Plane Night Market – the creative park with an equally creative second-hand market
Chang Chui was all the hype a couple of years back because it ticked all the boxes for young Thais. It was an art space with a retro vibe and interesting indie food stalls. On top of all that, it even has an immediately recognisable plane at its core – making it a fantastic spot for young Thais hunting for their next Instagram post.
While the hype has died down quite a bit, it still remains an interesting spot to hang out especially because of its second-hand market. The Chang Chui Plane Night Market has a night market which when literally translated from Thai means “happy to change hands” (ตลาดมือสองสุขเปลี่ยนมือ).
You’ll find vintage clothing, shoes, and even gadgets like photo cameras.

3. Sakura Japan Second-hand Market (โกดังสินค้ามือสองนำเข้าจากญี่ปุ่น ซอยสุขุมวิท 50) – warehouse selling imported Japanese items by the kilogram
Sakura Japan Second-hand Market sells imported second-hand items from Japan in an enormous warehouse near On Nut BTS.
What makes this place different from other second-hand markets in Bangkok is most of the products here are priced according to weight.
Another special thing about this place is that they literally sell everything under the sun, whether it’s Japanese-style home decor or kawaii stuffed animals.
The price starts from ฿50 to ฿100 per kilogram, depending on the type of product you’re getting. Meanwhile, a small number of products’ prices are already set, so keep your eyes peeled. Overall, this is a perfect place to stop by if you adore knick knacks and fashion but don’t want to overspend.

If we have to choose one line to accurately describe what is sold at Pattavikorn Market, it would be the classic proverb: “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
This market is best known for welcoming ‘amateur’ sellers who grab whatever they don’t need at home and lay them out on the concrete floor for sale. Believe it or not, this is where the fun is at!
Like a kid, you’ll get the thrill from just digging into a mountain of random products and picking out something you like, may it be clothes or old cassette tape players.

While you can expect to see typical stuff such as clothes, used auto parts, and kitchenware, you might also come across something as exciting as lucky Buddhist amulets, classic film cameras, and old DC & Marvel comic books.
Note: It’s more likely than not that most of the stuff here hasn’t been cleaned for a while, so arm yourselves with disposable gloves, hand sanitisers, and a face mask when visiting!

With more space comes more vintage stores for us to browse through. Goodies like clothes, fashion accessories, shoes, and furniture can be found here, with cool vintage international brands.
What we like about this place is that many shops have checked the quality of these products before putting them on the shelves, but we still recommend you to check again before purchasing just to be sure.

6. Wang Lang Market (ตลาดวังหลัง) – big market near Siriraj Hospital
Situated near old town Bangkok and Chao Phraya river, Wang Lang Market is a popular day-time destination for Thai folks and tourists alike.
Within the market’s territory, you will find a shopping area called Talad Werng Pratu Kiew (ตลาดเวิ้งประตูเขียว). Here’s where you can thrift your heart out.
Although this second-hand marketplace is not super huge, it’s still packed with a lot of stores with a wide range of items, from stylish clothes to sporty shoes.
Good news is most of the items there are in between ฿100 to ฿200 range. However, we urge you to check all stores before settling on a purchase to make your money’s worth, as the various stores set different prices for similar items.
As a market that locals visit all the time, you can easily find rare Thai food and dessert to munch on here. We recommend getting a taste of tago at แม่พิมพ์ใจ (Mhae Pimjai). This yummy snack is a sweet coconut pudding with fillings like taro, red bean, and corn.

8. Thonburi Market Sanam Luang 2 (ตลาดธนบุรี สนามหลวง 2) – suburban market best known for plants
For the go-to market on Bangkok’s western outskirts, Thonburi Market Sanam Luang 2 is where locals go. Although it’s best known for its wide selection of plants for those suburban gardens as well as pet products, there’s a robust second-hand market there as well.
With this being so far from the city, expect things here to be catered primarily for locals. This is not the most Instagrammable market, but its products are very practical and aimed at suburban living.
