Business reopening in Bangkok

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) informed the government that it would reopen businesses with strict regulations to prevent possible COVID-19 transmissions.
According to Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang, the city’s lockdown was set to end at midnight on 30th April 2020.
The businesses listed by the city include:
- Restaurants
- Markets
- Exercise venues
- Parks
- Beauty salons and barbershops
- Medical services such as clinics & nursing homes
- Animal hospitals & grooming parlours for pet
- Golf courses & driving ranges
The governor didn’t specify the reopening date, but speculation is rife it will be on 1 May 2020. The final decision will be made on Wednesday by The communicable disease committee.

The city said the plan is to reopen businesses with special measures to keep the virus under control, including:
- All restaurants must seat costumers at least 1.5 metres away from each other.
- Close-contact sports are not allowed in exercise venues.
- People are prohibited from forming groups in parks.
- Customers are not allowed to wait at barbershops or beauty salons.
- Pet owners can only bring 1 pet at a time to grooming shops or hospitals.
- All businesses must provide temperature check stations and hand sanitiser. Customers must wear face masks.
Additionally, all businesses will be opening in accordance with the emergency decree.
