Lakshmi Shrine aka พระแม่ลักษมี in Thai is a very popular love shrine among locals in Bangkok. The goddess is often depicted as a beautiful woman with four arms, seated or standing on a lotus flower. Each arm symbolises aspects of wealth and prosperity, including righteousness (dharma), wealth (artha), desire (kama), and liberation (moksha). Lakshmi is considered the divine consort of Lord Vishnu, one of the principal deities in Hinduism. As Vishnu’s consort, she represents the nurturing and supportive aspect of the divine feminine. It is believed that worshipping the goddess Lakshmi brings prosperity, granting wishes in matters of love.
Items to worship: Worship with nine joss sticks, pink lotus flowers, sugarcane juice, water, milk, five kinds of fruits, and various aromatic substances. Avoid meat or eggs.

As a little shrine in Yaowarat that has existed for over 170 years, Chao Mae Pradu Shrine plays an integral role in Thai culture and spirituality, with locals and visitors alike paying their respects and seeking assistance for their relationships.
The story goes that the goddess appeared out of a canal, and the villagers grabbed her and placed her at the shrine, which has since become a revered place of worship for many people in the area.
Items to worship: Bring five types of sweet fruits for offerings. Each fruit must be paired, along with 45 lotus flowers and a pair of red candles.

This shrine is designed in the traditional Thai style and prominently features a couple riding on a buffalo figure. Upon arrival, you will notice numerous red soda bottles, garlands, a wooden shrine, and Thai traditional attire adorning the surroundings. Mae Nak is a famous legendary Thai lady ghost who reportedly passed away while pregnant during the reign of King Rama III. Her tale has been depicted in numerous Thai soap operas and movies, with one of the most well-known being “พี่มากพระโขนง”. We recommend watching it if you are eager to know more about her.
Mae Nak Shrine is located within Wat Mahabut in Soi Sukhumvit 77. Many Thais, both from within Bangkok and from other regions, come to visit the shrine to pay their respects to her, seeking prosperous love and blessings for their love lives.

Here is also a shrine dedicated to a historical Thai person. Faeng Grandma or ยายแฟง was a female owner of a brothel in the period of King Rama III. The grandma was a wealthy person back then. She donated a lot of her money to help build up a temple which is Wat Khanikaphon School at present.
Inside the temple lies the statue of Faeng Grandma. She is known as a sacred figure for people seeking love’s blessings.

According to legend, Thaptim was a young woman who lived in ancient Thailand. She was known for her exceptional beauty, kindness, and compassion toward others.
One day, Thaptim encountered a group of sailors who were facing a perilous journey across the sea. Despite the dangers ahead, Thaptim offered prayers and blessings to the sailors, invoking divine protection for their voyage. Moved by her sincerity and benevolence, the sailors vowed to honour Thaptim as a goddess and to pay homage to her whenever they embarked on sea journeys.
As time passed, Thaptim’s reputation as a guardian deity of the sea grew among sailors and coastal communities. They built shrines and temples dedicated to her, where they offered prayers and sacrifices to seek her blessings for safe travels, bountiful catches, and protection from maritime dangers.
In today’s times, Chao Mae Thap Thim Shrine has transformed into a sought-after destination, drawing many visitors who hope to pray for the prosperity of their romantic relationships.
