Christmas displays in Bangkok
Bangkok has been getting into the Christmas spirit as early as November. As per tradition, shopping malls have been putting up the grandest and tallest trees, along with mini winter villages.
We’ve found the 8 of the most photogenic and prettiest displays across Bangkok, all of which are BTS-accessible.
1. EmQuartier – Candy Colony
EmQuartier’s Candy Colony Christmas display is a dream for everyone with an IG feed based on pink and blue tones. The hues also work for both day and night-time photos.
The colossal Christmas tree has oversized candy-themed ornaments as well as bean bags, making sure you can hit all the poses, and that there are decorations in every shot
There is also a candy tunnel at Emporium’s BTS Phrom Phong entrance.
Snap a picture under the candy cane tunnel. The oversized ornaments can act as snacks and dessert to the whole meal (ahem – you, of course). Oh, the Instagram captions.

2. ICONSIAM – ILLUMINATION 2020
For those over green Christmas trees, and giant presents ICONSIAM has a different type of display. ILLUMINATION 2020 is the mall’s festive display that wraps around the entire front patio of the establishment.
Mark Perry, Emmy winning artist, is responsible for this exhibition that uses the traditional Thai diamond pattern on the “trees”. The diamond symbolises connection and good vibes. Which, after 2.5-month self-quarantine and the entire year of 2020, we all need.
The display includes lanterns hanging from above that give you the illusion of a tan, and makes your highlighter *POP*
ILLUMINATION 2020 (ICONSIAM)

3. Siam Paragon – Nescafe Winter Wonderland
Siam Paragon’s Winter Wonderland is like a mini European Christmas market. With hot chocolate, a mini-ferris wheel and a merry go round, it’s the perfect place for children.
The highlight of their Winter Wonderland festivities seem to be the Santa Claus meet-and-greet. Thai celebrities Thanapob Leeratanakajorn, James Jirayu, JJ Pibulsonggram and Paris Intarakomalyasut will be posing as Father Christmas on 20th, 25th and 26th December respectively.
Hurry, though – this display also happens to be the shortest one, as it ends on the 27th!

4. Central World – World of Happiness
The width of the tree is a huge plus. With more surface area, you won’t have to worry about keeping people out of your #OOTD shot, or waiting in line for the perfect angle. This was actually taken from the “back” of the tree, where there’s less people.
For carousel post enthusiasts, CentralWorld is the place to be. The World of Happiness 2021 Celebration has a towering Christmas tree right in the middle of the plaza, surrounded by a little village of twinkling lights and gingerbread men.
The Christmas tree is decorated with huge ornaments and ribbons that double as props or a background
CentralWorld is also hosting a countdown celebration in the plaza. With the mall right between BTS Siam and Chidlom, partygoers can avoid holiday traffic on New Year’s Eve. The display will be up until 3rd January 2021.
There’s a forest of twinkling lights right next to the tree that emit the perfect luminescence for close-up shots. Right next to that is a house of dangling lights, also perfect for close-ups.

The Anantara has had many names – Peninsula, Four Seasons – associated with wealth and prestige. As one of the oldest and most established hotels in Bangkok, it’s not a surprise that their festivities cost a pretty penny to partake in. Luckily, it costs nothing to take a picture under their indoors Christmas tree that serves major hi-so vibes.

Terminal 21 Asok’s Gift Fest display centers around the gift of giving. With giant presents under the tree, as well as a line of White Christmas trees and snowflakes starting at BTS Asok, the mall is serving us a large choice of backgrounds and angles.
This appears to be the only display with white Christmas trees
The exhibition ends on 3rd January, so you can still head down after Christmas if you haven’t got the time.

Instagrammable Christmas displays
These Christmas displays will have you switching the positions for the perfect picture. While these displays are very generous with poses and angles, we highly recommend you wear neutral colours that don’t clash with the decor. For those wearing white, make sure it’s not transparent – the lights are very very bright!
Wherever you’re celebrating, the TSL team wishes you a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
