Ban Num Juang in Phitsanulok
Once summer is gone in mid-May, the rainy season will come to greet Thailand and stay until October. It’d be a good idea to indulge yourself in a vibrant, refreshing setting, such as a waterfall or a countryside farm, where you can admire lush greenery.
For a suggestion, consider a trip to Ban Num Juang in Phitsanulok where you can sightsee lush terraced farms on hills, and waterfalls, and relax by a reservoir.
A scenic Hmong village in Phitsanulok
Ban Num Juang is a village of Hmong people – a community of indigenous people who live across East and Southeast Asia, including northern Thailand. The village is known for lush terraced farms on rolling green hills worth visiting during the rainy season when the grass becomes luxuriant.
Rai Kieng Dao is a popular restaurant, homestay, camping spot and viewpoint in Ban Num Juang that you can visit to admire flower fields and catch a sweeping view of the farms and the hills. You can also find homestays with breakfast included here from ฿1,790 (~USD52.25)/night.
However, Rai Kieng Dao is temporarily closed till September 2023 because the locals are busy with cultivating crops. Check back on their Facebook page to keep tabs on when they will reopen.
Also, you can reach out to accommodation provider Phu Tab Si at +668 8542 2237 for another place to stay, as it offers guesthouses including breakfast from ฿1,200 (~USD52.25)/night. Or, you can rent a tent here at ฿500 (~USD14.57)/tent.
About five minutes away from Rai Kieng Dao, you can kick back at the village’s reservoir. We recommend bringing a mini table and chairs to sit with your family or friends and enjoy the ambience.
Last but not least, Tat Plakang Waterfall is an eye-catching waterfall where you can be with yourself while listening to the soothing sound of the rushing water. You can also check out Tat Plakhao Waterfall, which is not far from Tat Plakang Waterfall.
