Baked milk & cheese recipe
Everybody loves to eat delicious desserts, but baking them is a whole other story since it usually requires lots of preparation and skill. But putting together a yummy snack doesn’t have to always be difficult.
Let us introduce you to baked milk & cheese, a chewy dessert which is super easy to make in your very own kitchen.
What you’ll need
What we love about this recipe is that we can easily find most of the ingredients in our kitchen. Here are 6 items you’ll need in order to make this yummy snack:
- Milk – 500ml.
- Cornflour – 50g.
- Sugar – 50g.
- Vanilla extract – 1 tbsp.
- Cheddar cheese – 2 slices
- Egg yolk (from 3 eggs)
Here’s how to make it
1.Put 2 egg yolks, sugar, milk (250ml.), and vanilla extract in a pot and set a stove to low heat. Gently stir until all of the ingredients are well mixed.
2.Then, put 2 sheets of cheddar cheese in and stir again until they’re completely melted. Leave the pot on low heat.
3.Mix milk (250ml.) and cornflour together in another bowl and give it a stir until well combined.
4. Slowly pour the cornflour mixture into the pot and give it a light stir until thickened.
5.Put the mixture into a glass bowl and leave it to completely cool down before wrapping it with plastic wrap.
6.Refrigerate for 4 hours until the mixture becomes solid. We recommend leaving it overnight to make sure it fully solidifies.
7.Get the solid mixture out of the glass bowl and cut it into bite-size pieces.
8.Slightly brush each piece of the solid milk with egg yolk while warming up your oven at 200 – 220 ํC for 15 minutes.
9.Place the solid milk on a baking tray lined with a baking sheet and send it into the oven for 20 – 25 minutes. When the milk turns golden brown, it’s good to take it out of the oven.
Enjoy munching
All your effort will pay off in the form of a bunch of soft and chewy golden nuggets with an inviting scent from the cheese and milk. Don’t forget to share some cool shots on IG to show how proud you are!
Because this snack is a tad sweet, you can pair it with any beverages you like, whether it’s a hot cup of green tea or an ice-cold glass of Milo.
To make your baking session even better, we highly recommend doing it with your friends and family – the more the merrier!
