Ao Thalane in Krabi
Krabi is one of the most famous beach destinations in Thailand- the province includes famous shores including the beautiful scapes seen in Leo DiCaprio’s ‘The Beach’.
Located roughly 30 km from Krabi Town, Ao Thalane or Thalane Bay is a small fishing village that should be added to your sea adventure bucket list. The bay will take your breath away with its floating terrestrial canyons with Avatar vibes and stunning panoramic ocean views – the 3 km calm journey from the bay to the open sea is lined with impressive limestone cliffs and untouched sights.
Thalane Bay features stunning limestone cliffs and canyons that’ll remind you of the Avatar movie on sea.

Lush mangrove forests in Thailand
Lucky for us, the ocean paved a kayaking route through mangrove forests as well as stunning cliffs.

This unique and well-preserved mangrove is an eco-tourist’s dream – the silted infrastructure also depicts the sustainable lives that people in the small fishing village of Ao Thalane live.

Get to know the vast natural beauty and ecological diversity of the mangrove forests – there are many fish nurseries, crustacean homes and eating ground for monkeys.
Monkeys can join the ride, and it’s highly recommended not to provoke and feed them. Feeding them can encourage them to steal food from other kayakers.

When stopping by a mangrove, it’s inadvisable to leave your vessel at the mangroves, because there’s a variety of species that can be a danger to you. Instead, be sure to dock at one of the pristine beaches or even in a secluded cavern for some Indiana Jones vibes.
