“Alligator” spotted in flood turns out to be a decoy
Sometimes, our eyes can play tricks on us and a log floating in the water may look like an alligator because these animals do camouflage themselves well. So, it’s understandable that some villagers in the Phitsanulok Province freaked out after they thought that they had seen an alligator appearing in the waters after a recent flood and reported it to the district chief. In the end, the “alligator” turned out to be a decorative item that had gone missing from a house.

Alligator head decoy found in the flood

On 8th August 2022, some villagers in Phitsanulok reportedly called the district chief because they spotted an alligator in a the flood waters after it had been raining all night. Later on, the chief, along with his officers dropped by to investigate. They then discovered that the “alligator” was a just decoy that had been swept away by the flood.
According to Matichon, after the district chief dredged the “alligator” up, he posted a photo of it on Facebook to find the item’s owner. Later, a woman contacted him and explained that she had bought the alligator decoy for her garden, but the flood carried it away.
Alligator decor mistaken for the real deal
After seeing the photo of the decoy, we can all agree that it looks like a real alligator from a distance. So, we really don’t blame the villagers for freaking out. Thankfully, the “alligator” turned out to be just a decorative item. Otherwise, the district chief might have had more trouble capturing it.
