Thailand Shortens Quarantine Period For International Arrivals To 10 Days Starting 1st April

Self-isolation period reduced to 10 days


On Monday 22nd April, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration announced that international tourists & Thais alike will no longer have to self-isolate for 14 days – the period has been cut down to ten days and will come into practice on 1st April 2021.


Quarantine rules relaxed


Currently, foreign visitors are required to remain in their rooms during the self-isolation period. Starting from 1st April, quarantined individuals will be able to leave their respective quarters for an allotted period of time – they will be welcome to use other facilities like pools, fitness centres and concession stands under the condition that they remain on the premises.

The government has also decided to reduce the amount of paperwork required before entering the country: those flying into the Kingdom will no longer have to present fit-to-fly documents, according to Bangkok Post. Visitors, however, musts submit a negative RT-PCR test 72 hours before flight time.

However, individuals travelling from high-risk nations will still be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine, reported Forbes.
