On 8th October 2022, TikTok user @Phakonphikmai posted a video of a crocodile walking around the house with a little cat standing in the vicinity. Surprisingly, the crocodile didn’t pose any threat towards the person recording the video or make any advances towards the cat.

When interviewed, the owner said the crocodile is named Chao Tong and his father had legally bought it from a farm since it was little. The crocodile is allegedly quite possessive of the stuff in the room which contains a Buddha statue. That said, the owner assured everyone that the crocodile was “tame”, unlike other similar reptiles. He also stated that sometimes passers-by would be scared by Chao Tong as they mistakenly thought the animal came with floods. The side effect of this, however, is that thieves wouldn’t dare to commit burglaries at his house.

Translation: It’s cute. What’s its name?

Finally, this woman found the crocodile cute and wanted to know its name.

Strong security is guaranteed by the crocodile

While many people may find the crocodile dangerous, this owner shares that it’s been a part of his family for as long as he knows. If what he says is true, the story also shows that if a person knows how to tame a crocodile, it might not be as wild as we’d expect. However, we completely understand why strangers may freak out if they encounter Chao Tong up close. NGL, we’d act the same if we ran into one at our neighbour’s yard.

On the up side, thieves would think twice before breaking into this man’s house as long as this guard croc is on duty. Those who worry about burglars, can also consider upgrading your security if you so desire.
