Thai student and Bangkok governor’s ‘hand heart’ goes viral
Chadchart Sittipunt won a landside victory in a recent election to appoint the new governor of Bangkok just last week.
After the election ended, he met with many citizens to talk about problems they’d been facing and offer support. Many people also approached to take photos with the popular politician.
However, one photo in particular, has been widely shared on Facebook. It’s a rather unexpected one too. This viral pic captures the awkward moment where a female Thai student failed to do a ‘hand heart’ with the governor.

Student shares awkward ‘hand heart’ with the governor

On 27th May 2022, the governor reportedly visited an artwork exhibition at Chumchon Luenrit in Bangkok and interacted with citizens that day. These interactions included taking photos with them, in moments which were captured by the press.
One of the pictures shot by THE STANDARD, a media outlet in Thailand, has gone viral on Facebook. It’s a photo of a female student trying to do a ‘hand heart’ with Governor Chadchart. In a twist, he gave her a ‘thumbs-up’ instead.
After the photo had been shared extensively on social media, many amused netizens were inclined to share how the iconic moment made them feel in the comments.

Translation: It’s one-sided love then.
One Facebook user hilariously said that it seemed like the student was expressing her “one-sided love”.

Another commentor teased that she got friend-zoned by the governor.

One netizen mused that the governor had “no time for love” because he only focused on his work.

An awkward but wholesome moment with the governor
This could be an unforgettable awkward moment in the female student’s life, but we think it was a wholesome event nonetheless. On the bright side, we’re glad that the photo also shows that Bangkok’s new governor seems willing to spare his time to interact with people on the ground, and we wish him all the best in helping citizens during his term.
